check reed

i have removed the carburetors from the block and I read there is a way to check if the reeds are functional...

what am I looking for.... rust warp for me I looked but cant even recognize were they are

By looking through the carb openings you can tell if any reeds are broken. That's about it unless there is a lot of corrosion. You can see the back side of the reeds and the reed Vee blocks

Reeds are allowed to stand open at rest .010 inch but you will never be able to see that unless the whole reed block is removed.

I personally have never seen warped reeds but I don't doubt that this could happen. I suspect it is very rare.
