Hi:
I'm building-up a GM 5.7L engine, using a new (well, remanufactured) short block, & heads, manifolds and tin from an old motor. The original fuel pump is fine, but I didn't remove the mounting plate, so never saw beneath it.
(Please refer to the picture) What is this hole beneath the fuel pump push rod hole on the block... what's it's purpose? Do I just leave it open?? My intuition tells me it's an oil return drain & to leave it open, but I just don't know.
Thanks in-advance!!
