Chevy/Jd ad giving me add

It is understandable that advertising is needed to keep this fourm going, and I do not have issues with that.
Lately, the chevy ad is just sitting there at the botom of the screen without a way to close it. It is hogging my screen's viewable area, and it's kinda like watching TV with those black lines at the top and bottom of the screen. Is there a way to close it without going the pop up blocker route? There used to be a close box on the ad, but now there is only a black line with a click here to unmute. Anyone else having this problem, or is it my terribly slow internet connection?

If its the same one I'm thinking of, the close button is on the left hand side of the ad. I did the same thing a couple days ago when the ad changed.

Once you close it....it does not come back until you close your browser and there are ways to block it.

It doesn't give me a option to close it. Even right clicking on it doesn't give me a option. I am using fire fox.

Ayuh,... Look on the starboard-side of the ad, 'bout centered(up, 'n down) for the (Close X)
It sets vertically, 'bout an inch(on my screen) from the righthand side of the ad...

So, are you going to buy a new Chevy truck? It is rumored that someone made a mistake and clicked the ad and a new Chevy turned up in his driveway!!

There are various ad's and yes the close sign for the chevy ad is on the right side and the john deere ad is near the middle left side.

LOL.......I just have a black box all the way across about a half inch high on a 15inch monitor........must be FAA regulations.....

i think someone don't want us to close that ad.

the close box has been moved. just look over the whole ad, which i'm sure is the intention. the x is there somewhere. on my computer, it was horizontal on the starboard side, now it's vertical on the port side. tricky advertising gimmicks imho..

There is no option to close it on my computer either, the ad has been changed since yesterday. The add does not fully load on my computer either, it seems to get stuck about half way, which might be the reason I can't see the X box.

Yepp.....mine is just like that. It seems that it cannot fully load, so it just hangs........then when I go to a different page it starts all over again and hangs....

I think they moved the x to the port side to accommodate the hand held devices. The fail to completely load deal could be any of a gazillion problems with different links being slow, dead, or blocked by the user.

If you can't figure it out, put in a pop up blocker, or use the one if firefox. It nips the load at the start.

You are using FF? You can download the adblock plus add-on and never see an annoying ad here, or any forum again.

I try to ignore it but sometimes ending up clicking on it when scrolling. RRRRRRRRRR

They just moved the close x button, it is on the left side of the picture, tucked up real close and up and down instead of laying flat. I use FF and it is there, took a few min to find it the first time it came up that way but it it there.

Once you get it closed it doesnt seem to appear again till you revisit the site.

But yes, it is very annoying....

Mine did not look like that Don S. There was not anything resembling a close box, even on mouse overs...
Just installed add blocker plus again and no more ad. Last time I had it installed, my wife was about to strangle me. Some of her sites and email links wouldn't work. So I am learning how to set up the add blocker plus so I won't have to sleep in the dog house tonight.

Reminds me........better put the 120 volt AC on the dog house.......just in case....
