Chrome issues.................

When trying to reply to a thread, 99% of the time I can't. Nor can I edit my post, or, start a new thread. When replying, I hit the reply button and get a quick reply screen, but no tool bar or text box. When I hit reply again it goes into advanced mode and the tool bar/text box disappear instantly. The smiley box stays put. When I try to edit my post, I go into edit mode, but my text is no where to be found. Starting a new thread I can type in a title but not any text.
This only happens on this forum. IE works perfectly. Is there anything on my end I can do(I know, use IE)?? Is it an Iboats issue? On a rare ocassion, Chrome will work.....

Thanks......

That's weird I have found Chrome to be the best browser followed by Mozilla followed by smoke signals coupled with physic consultation and NEVER use the IE. :D

You might look at the chrome tools and settings.

I'm also using Chrome, no issues what so ever with posting, pictures or anything.

Might check to see if you have a popup blocker or something you have been using with IE that is getting in the way. Did you try making it your default browser? (you can always change it back.)

I have popup blocker turned on in IE. Turned it off. Can't find something similar in Chrome. Made chrome my default browser, no change. On a rare ocassion it works fine and works good on other forums except here. That's the odd part...

I agree, Chrome is faster than IE. Now if I could use it for more than just surfing on this forum.....

Might try clearing the cache files. It may be reverting to something old for some reason.

In case you can't find it, click the little wrench in the upper right then settings, then at the bottom left of the page click on the advanced settings then clear browsing data.

Sounds to me like you're using the Basic Editor. I can't explain why it would work in IE and not Chrome, though.

Here's something to try:

Go to the top of this (or any) page and click Settings
On that page, scroll down and click General Settings
Scroll down to Miscellaneous Options and see what Message Editor Interface is set to. Set it to Standard Editor, scroll down to Save Changes and I think you should be OK. If it's already set to Standard, I don't know what to tell you.

Tried it, didn't help.....

Most likely a javascript issue, you may also try clickin the wrench and try to find the javascript settings. Not 100% sure on where it is located. Make sure JavaScript is active

Is your Java updated also ??. You should be running Java 7 update 5. :)

Make sure you delete the old Java platforms.

At first I went into tools and clicked on Javascript console. It auto ran some kind of security update. Not sure what that was all about.

Just checked Java's setting. All programs were set to run it. Thanks for walk thru......

Ok........ I need a walk thru for all that too......... I've noticed a Java update pop up. I try to run it, but it fails. "Failed to download required installation files". I'll try your suggestions this afternoon. Need to head out...

Ok, I went to Java's wbsite and loaded the most current version. Need to remove older versions yet and bounce the system. Will get back later with a status...

Thanks Don, was on my cell phone at the time and couldn't really explain that!

Keep us updated if you're still experiencing issues, updating both Java and JavaScript should correct the issues. If not then we'll have to look at other possibilities.

Re: Chrome issues.................

Got rid of old versions/updates, installed new version and rebooted. Went to reply on a Iboats thread, worked perfect(one time). Hasn't worked since. I noticed that even when I reboot and go to Iboats forum I'm still logged in. Thought for sure the reboot would bounce me out... Sooooooooo, I'm still not up and running properly....

Just rebooting your computer will not log you out.

Try clearing your history cookies and then reboot. :)
