Chrysler 105 on a 100hp rated semi trihull

would putting a 105 hp Chrysler on a 100hp rated boat be a no go?

This gets into a grey area.-----The plate on the boat may say 100 hp.-----That does not say propshaft power or crankshaft horsepower.----Does not take into account whether it is a lightweight older motor or a new heavy 4 stroke / or heavy 2 stroke motor.

Lol, hey redbaron sounds like a good idea. Maybe repaint it custom or something. Im sure these i4's are heavy. Haven't found a spec on it yet. They claim this one runs good, 100 bucks whatever, not a bank breaker that's for sure.

the old 105s weighed about 250lb. Featherweights compared to the 4 stroke tonnage of today

Buddy had an old Chrysler 75 I believe years ago. Ran like a top. 2 adults pulling a skier with little trouble. Not much value anymore is what im reading but respectable if looked after I guess.

Just remove the sticker on the transom.

My boat came from the factory without a sticker.
Since 88 when I bought it I'd been boarded 4 times.
Not once did anybody ask where it was ??

105's were made ( according to the clymer manual ) from 1966 to 1978
