then it would sometimes slowly take off sometimes not? i checked fuel screen again and carb bowls they are clean did this on water no change? ive tried to list all symptoms i traded for this boat and know nothing about it also please HELP i really cant afford to take to shop also i checked the flywheel to the distributer marks and they line up please help????thank you

Re: chrysler 115hp

Sounds like a fuel problem. Try checking fuel pickup tube in the tank for blockage on the screen.
Fuel vent line and vent, make sure your fuel lines are in good shape, not cracked, loose or
Missing. Have you checked the fuel filter yet? Also if you have a primer make sure that it stay
Full and firm while engine is running, if not then either your fuel filter is plugged or possible
fuel pump prob. How many carbs does it have and have you tried to adjust the fuel mixture?
These are just some easy cheap fixes. If you have a good timing gun then check for good
Spark on all cylinders.hope this helps. Good luck.

Change the fuel pump gasket and diaphragm. Then check the fuel system right from the tank pick-up to the carbs. Dismount the carbs, remove the bowls and floats and clean everything with WD40. Remove the low speed needle and clean that passage too. Now reset the floats level with the casting with the carb inverted. Upside-down, the weight of the floats should close the inlet needles against air and right side up, the floats should drop to just above the high speed jet.

Set the needles to 1 1/4 turns out to start. Then read the sticky FAQs synchronizing timing and carbs.

Timing procedure can vary with the year of the engine (different ignition systems) However all are set to 30 degrees before top dead center at wide open throttle. Clamp the inductive pick up around the top plug wire #1, connect light power to the battery, and aim the light at the flywheel. One of the flywheel marks will match the pointer mark on the block.
