Hi Nordin, like you say I guess there must be a problem with the CD unit, I've tried pretty much everything now, it was wired up wrong, maybe whoever did the wire damaged the CD unit? I will have to look around for another one on ebay.
In the meantime I'll just have to use the choke to stop it, it does mean the enging keeps getting flooded and I think it makes the engine rum rough?

Just for information m4mike. Older Chrysle,r late 60.s early 70.s (smaller ex. 6, 9,9, 12,9, even 20Hp) did not have any killing switch. The 20Hp had 2 wires from the points for a killing switch but it was not connected. The owners manual says .... choke to stop.
SO. I do not think you are going to have any problem with choke to kill it. Maybe, do not use the choke at first when you start it up then, after you killed it with the choke.
