I am now looking for parts I am getting no spark at all and at this point no gas to the carb. I have checked the fuel shut off it clear and clean. I replace the fuel line I am now thinking I need a new electrical but I will plug along. The frustrating thing is that this motor is spotless. and rarely used. any help?

The most common cause of no spark is dirty or corroded breaker points. Have you cleaned them? I don't mean a half-hearted attempt, I mean take them completely apart and individually polish each contact shiny bright. Re-assemble and adjust the gap to .020" at their widest opening. That may be all it needs.

I got the points out and cleaned them and they glistened no spark I am now going to my local boat shop and get new points new capacitor and see if they can find a new coil. The compression on a single pull was 90 so if I can get it going it should be a great fresh water troller for Kokanee.

How are you testing for spark?

Replacing the Fuel pump gaskets and diaphragm has always been one answer to fuel delivery problems...

I have currently managed to get the motor to fire but it will not run any more than a kick. ?I am thinking that the carb needed to be cleaned and did that so I will see tomorrow. F_R I want to thank you for your help.
