we have been having problems hooking up our motor to a key ignition to get the motor to turn over. the wires are
1.yellow-start
2.-----------
3.white-ign
4.green-choke
5.orange-heat
6.red-battery
7.blue-ign
8.black-ground
now our wiring leading to the ignition is white, purple, red, and that's it but when we try to turn the motor over the choke engages wich doesnt make any sense because the purple wire is hooked up to the choke button on the dash and the green wire is hooked up to a small white box under the dash wich has a wire leading to the ignition that is black and another problems is that there is no spot for the purple wire on the motor plz reply A.S.A.P

Is it battery ignition with coils on the side of the engine or magneto ignition with coils under the flywheel?

A photo would help since your wiring is not standard.
