Engine runs fine. Seems to cavitate in forward gear, just as the boat starts to plane. Pulls great in reverse. I just purchased this boat. Owner said it jumps out of gear, did not hear or feel anything weird. Prop was clean. Ihave had many boats over the years this is new problem. Thanks

Re: Chrysler 70 hp (707he)

Sounds like the prop's hub might be spun??
Take the prop off and draw a line across the hub.
Reinstall and go for a ride.
Possible the motor's not mounted right(possible???)

All the parts there on the lower unit?Pic.

Jumps out of gear.
A cable out of adjustment or a bad clutch dog.
The dog can be resurfaced. So can the gears.

Do the prop thing, post a pic of the lower.

Thanks for the info. I built a fixture to hold the prop, spun the hub with my torque wrench. Only took 25ft.lbs to spin it.Problem solved. Thanks again.
