Hello,
Anyone know where to find a rebuild kit for the carbs on a 700 Skier? Mine are leaking and the motor is running but not reaching full RPMs. Actually running smoothly but slow to get on plane, lower top end, and feels sluggish.
709h9a model number.
Lower unit is in great shape, new plugs and electronics except for the voltage regulator and strator. I figure I better get the carbs fixed before I try changing other pieces of the system.

Thanks.

Leaking ? Where? Float levels?
First check the fuel pump diaphram.Do a compression/spark test.
Check the timing too.
Do this and get back with results.

Fixed the leaking Carbs. Seals around bowls were bad. Floats and needle working smoothly.

Not sure where the fuel pump diaphragm is. I do have 135, 140, 140 compression from the top down. Getting spark on at all plugs.
Check the timing too.
Timing is good.
Do this and get back with results.

Okay, riddle me this. I've had the unit out on the water four times. First time had a heavy dose of Sea Foam in the tanks. The motor would run at times like a scalded ape, spit and sputter, then back to it. For the most part it ran nice. Ran twelve gallons through it. Second time, no Sea Foam. Runs smooth but never reaches full power. Third time, motor started and idled fine but failed to get on plane. Stopped, cleaned plugs, restarted and the boat got on plane but not at full power. 20 minutes later, never able to reach plane. Running as if on 2 cylinders (and badly at that). Fourth time, the motor wouldn't take any throttle above idle. Adjusting carbs on the water and the middle and bottom cylinders did not appear to work properly. Adjustments to them didn?t appear to change performance. If the top cylinder was changed the motor would die. Best I could tell, the top was the only cylinder contributing power this last go around.

I can't help but think it's something simple. I'm at a loss as to what it could be.
