Chrysler tilt shock absorber

Hi all,
So last year I bought a 1970 Chrysler sport fury, with a 1978 Chrysler 105 outboard. After tacking her out on the lake a few times for the season, it was time for a restore. New deck, foam, carpet and paint. any ways found out the tilt shock absorber on the port side was froze. Can I just run without it?

yes but ... the engine may bounce when you use TnT and you'll need to put in a bushing or something to keep the mounting shaft from drifting.

Thanks RRitt. Thats what i thought just wanted a second opinion. I'm just going to cut the shock ear off to stop the drifting.

use a bushing. the shock piston shaft is same as tilt piston shaft. if your tilt piston shaft ever gets bent or rusted then you'll want that part.
