Chunk out of Hydrofoil, "whale tail", what problem?

My motor has a doelfin or whale tail hydrofoil on the cavitation plate. On the passenger side of boat, there is a small chunk out of the hydrofoil at the far back corner broken off. What problems might this cause?

It will cause no problems with your motor, it's an aftermarket device. You might see a little less hole shot performance depending on how big the chunk is, but it's not an issue with your motor, it was designed to work without the doelfin.

Getting out of the hole is a problem I am having now, seems to bog down before finally taking off, especially with 2 people on board.
