Starts W/choke in either start or shift position, but revs. at high rpms, for about 10 seconds. When the rpms. lower, I have to work the choke for a few minutes, then it will idle in both shift and start positions. Just as soon as I turn the throttle up it stalls.
What causes it to stall?

New plugs, cleaned carburator, holds pressure on gas line.

I ordered a carb. kit (18-7037) and a fuel pump kit from you. What part of this carb. kit can I use in my carb?

sounds like your float is not adjusted correctly. pull the carb off agian, take off the bowl and put a hose on to where the fuel line goes onto the carburator now gently blow through there and move the float by hand. the float should be LEVEL with the carborator when the needle seats (you cant blow through) if not adjust the float to proper setting (level with carb) then try again
