clamp on rod holders

trying to get my new to me 16' westcoaster set up . has anyone out there used the scotty clamp on rod holder mounts? i would like to be able to move the mounts, depending on the type of fishing i'm doing. my fear is that the jaws will not open wide enough to go over the gunwale. the width of the gunwale is just under 2". any info greatly appreciated...thanks...Bill

that has been my biggest problem over the years, finding one i liked, here's an address of the ones i used on my last boat, and i liked them, the track stay mounted, i had one on each gunnel and one across the stern.
