i see pictures of other peoples motor they are so clean and dry how do they clean all the little cracks and crevises. after a few leaks under the cowl i have a lotof oily residue is there a spray that is suitable to spray with, any help would be greatly appreciated

I had good success using an engine degreaser in one of those manual 'pump' garden sprayers that you can get cheap at HD and Lowe's. The hose and nozzle let you place the stream where you want it and get into all the corners. You can rinse it off the same way with plain water. It's fairly low pressure, so if you watch your aim you won't force any chemicals or water into places you don't want it.

I followed that up with a spray can of some 'engine finish' stuff (think it's CRC) that makes it shiny.

thank you JoLin , i have garden sprayer and will get degreaser. i was concerned that harsh chems might cause corision but maybe the rinse will prevent that.thank you very much for your quick responce.:joyous:
