I poked around, checked some of the FAQs and did not come up with much of anything. I apologize if I missed it.

I'm a weekend boater, but once a year I rent a place on a lake. The boat is anchored just off shore with the motor up when not in use. After 2 weeks there is always a lot of white film on the leg, bracket and trim pump. Soap and water does not seem to clean this off.

What product/process do you use ? Easy of use is important !!

Have you tried some elbow grease? Maybe a magic eraser? I would use a sponge and then maybe some compound and wax when done.

the white is probably calcium deposits, if so, use a bathroom cleaner such as kaboom or CLR.

Hose it on, let sit, keep hosing it on and keep it wet for about 10 minutes. then take a scrub brush and a bucket of water and a can of elbow grease.

You should be able to remove the "white" (mineral film) with Tilex bathroom cleaner and a fine kitchen scrubber (scotchbrite or the like), both available at the dollar store.

Be careful with the scotchbrite pads because they can cut through paint!

Agreed. scotchbrite is used to sand paint to prep for the next coat of paint.

Calcium can be removed with Acetic Acid. Usually found in Kitchen cupboards as Vinegar

I like this suggestion ! When spring finally gets here, I'm going to get a gallon and a sprayer from the dollar store and go at it !

Use white vinegar before trying anything else. I get the same thing on mine. Hard water deposits. Works great
