I suspect that while my foot was off my 1978 175 HP blackmax for about 2 years that dirtdobbers may have obstructed the water port in the bottom of the powerhead. I just cranked the engine for the first time and there does not seem to be enough water going to the heads. Nothing is coming out the peehole. I removed one of the three hoses from the fitting on the block and a little water was coming from it. Is there a safe way to flush the block with water from a water water hose to remove any obstructions without removing the foot? I know that the water tube from the pump was clear when I installed it along with a new impeller. Is there anything else that I should check?
