I've done auto painting before but never clear coat & never fiberglass-
Do you mix/thin the clearcoat same as any colored paint or is it a different mixture? Would you still shoot mostly thinner on it to "kill" the overspray?
Just want to add a coat of clearcoat on my deckboat in the very near future-
Appreciate any advice

Re: Clear Coat Question

There are clear coat RTS paints .....RTS ready to Spray.

If you are looking for shine remember the key is in the prep...... .......

Thanks, i'll look into that-
Not big on shine, just want to keep a clean look mostly- we know what unprotected white fiberglass can look like very quick :(

Re: Clear Coat Question

I used Nason select clear spot panel clear for a lot of parts on the boats I am restoring and it works well. I just mix the catalyst with the clear as shown on the can and it has been perfect. The stuff was about $115 per gal. with the catalyst. No thinning has ever been necessary.
