I am working on rebuilding a 165 straight six right now for a project boat. It too had a cracked block. The engine is easy to work on and parts are readily available. If you like the boat I suggest looking around for another engine. You can usually pick one up pretty cheap. That's IF you can do the work yourself. Otherwise it can get expensive quick.

And for what it's worth -- I'm sorry I was right. :(

Of course I am forgetting the original reason for the post. Did you find that the outdrive is locked up? You might be looking at a new drive as well. Maybe time to shop around for a different boat instead. If your outdrive is bad, you can pick up a brand new aftermarket one for under $1,500. Just something to keep in mind.

Well, i found a block for $200 and i can rebuild ,the drive was fine so i need

to figure out if i want to deal with it......... ya what the ... why not!!!!! NO LUCK

HOOT, thx for the reply. The milky oil was in the oil pan , when i pulled the dip stick it was like coffee with alot of cream. thx NO LUCK
