Anyone know which are the better outboard repair manuals, Clymers manuals or Seloc manuals?

We (iboats.com) took a good long look at them and decided to go with and sell the Seloc manuals exclusively 2 years ago. We have been very happy with that decision. Hope this helps.

I like some of the new features which Seloc has introduced. They are more progressive in my opinion. A few years ago there weren't as many differences. I will admit that it does depend on your preferences. One thing in particular I like about the Seloc is that the -newer- ones tell you how difficult something is going to be with a rating. That way, if you are a novice, somewhat experienced, or a long time wrench - you know what to expect. You don't want to get part way into something only to discover that you shouldn't have attempted it.

Re: Clymers vs Seloc manuals

So if I bought a new Seloc manual, (Thomson Delmar Learning, 1 edition, Feb. 1, 2001)) it would be better than Clymers (3rd edition April 1, 1997)? BTW It's for Force Outboards. Clymers covers 1984-1999, Seloc covers 1984-1999.

Seloc is by far more detailed. I have had both.
