Last time out the engine died and upon investigating, I discovered that there was a spark jumping from the center coil wire to one of the connectors on the side of the coil. I wrapped the connector with electrical tape and everything worked fine. Are the wires that go to the small screw connectors on the top of the coil normally insulated? If not, what would cause this sudden arcing to occur and what should I do to rectify the situation permanently?

Thank you.
