1974 70 hpruns 5 minutes or less looses power . wait a few minits it will take off thin loose power. push on choke does not help. is a coil breaking down.

That is a symptom of an open coil. But keep in mind that triggers and stators also have coil windings the can do the same thing when they get hot and expand. Try switching the coil with another coil, and see if missfire moves with the suspect coil.

there is some green something running out of the stater is that normal for a 74 motor. if so will a stater out of a 50 hp work
