Ever wonder what has become of Colin Powell. I felt his credibility was abouse by Cheny and Rumsfield during the whole invasion of Iraq. I think he was kept out of the information loop and used to get the American people behind the invasion.

Colin Powell was and I believe still is a man of integrity, something that has been missing in Washington for a long time. He will go down in history much the same as President Jimmy Carter, too good of person to be President of the USA.

Just 8 years ago he could have been in line to run on either party, I believe it is a huge loss to our country.

I believe as you do regarding CP. I also believe many others feel the same. That said, CP could still potentially be our Prez if he should decide to run. I think the country still accepts him, he needs to decide whether he will run, or fade away.

Re: Colin Powell

What an exciting ticket it would make if he ran as a "D". I believe he is a "D" not because of color but because of his insight and identification with the working, soldier class rather than as an elitist. Oh Lord what have I said.

txwinner, you gave the answer in that statement why he won't run. 'nuff said.

Re: Colin Powell

You just sunk your credibility by comparing Powell with Carter. You also lower Powell by suggesting he was dooped.

Re: Colin Powell

I am not sure that I really mind having lowered my credibility in your eyes. If the term integrity enters the picture anyone should be proud to be compared to President Jimmy Carter.

On Carter, if you think that is "too good of a person" is someone that because of his ex-presidental status goes around the world bad mouthing this country and undermining presidents Clinton and Bush you must not know much about Carter. Clinton was so mad about what Carter did by going to the UN and making a deal to not santion North Korea, If Clinton thought he could have gotten away with it he probable would have had Carter wiped out.

Don't get me wrong. I think he would make a good President, but it just won't happen, IMO.

Carter and Powell are 10 fold as honorable as either of the presidents you just mentioned. They neither please me with their morals and integrity is not apart of their makeup.

Re: Colin Powell

Let us see here, Bush and Clinton:

Neither served his country,
one admitted smoking marijuana, the other cocaine and a drunk,
both tore this country in half,
one invaded a country on half baked intel,
both have shamed their families,
neither has my respect and at least the respect of 1/2 of the citizens of our country.

Yes give me Mr. Carter or Mr. Powell, however, you can expect either to get kicked or booted by the people in power.

C&P from the txswinner dictionary

hon·or·a·ble

ADJECTIVE:

1. Characterized by or causing dishonor or discredit.
2. Lacking integrity; unprincipled.

Just messin' with ya there Txs :)

right cods, maybe I should go fishin today. On other hand, boat would sink, lose all my fishing gear and a beautiful mermaid would save me only to be caught by the wife. Think I will just go back to bed!!!!!

If everything is in fact bigger in Texas, would that be a 450 lb. mermaid? :)

Re: Colin Powell

I think the bigger applies to chest area, not body size. :)

neither has my respect and at least the respect of 1/2 of the citizens of our country.
To be honest, I dont think either would lose much sleep over the first. Jimmy Carter probably would qualify for the second. I dont know a single person, other than you that thinks JC is all you think he is. ;)
