Re: COMPLETED: Hole on Midsection Repair

Thanks Jerry! Yes, i am about 99% sure it was because the shift link coupler was installed the wrong way or upside down. Also i didn't lift up on the prop while reinstalling the lower unit.

hey, bud i just did the same stupid thing installing a water pump kit fo the first time ,but i use 2 part epoxy and gave it to coats, but i will be using the sme piece of aluminum like you did because i am afraid of it getting soft in salt water whe i dock it next week.good fix and very ingenuise guy. my other ploblem is after installing my lower unit the prpp only goes counterclockwise an not in reverse when my engine is running, and should"nt the prop stop when in nuetral gear?any help would be appreciated

Re: COMPLETED: Hole on Midsection Repair

thanks for the compliment, sorry for the delay for response, i wanna say the lower unit shift shaft is not set with the shifter used to shift the gears. Try to make sure they are bot hon the same page. the lower shift shaft does rotate, depending on its position determines the gear its in. ill try to find an old post on this and post it, might be your issue here.
