compression, 35hp, force

i have a 89 35hp good blue spark and compression of 110 and 112 is that high enough ?
it start up runs lots of smoke and gas coming out the exhaust
i dont want to put money in it if compression is to low

Good as long as it is over 100.

After a good decarb it might come up to 120.

ok thanks

a took the carb o part and it looks like im missing a part number .F10204 NOZZLE SPRING ???? it was not in there could that be where im getting the extra fuel from ??? plugs are wet and if i tip the motor back fuel runs out of the carb

It might not be missing.
I'd check the fuel pump diaphram.
Install a small filter between the carb and pump.
Tilting the motor will allow fuel to escape as the float changes position.

These motors did not have high compression ... the 45 and 55hp versions had much higher compression.....the filter between carb and pump is to catch bits of disentegrating pump which can get in the carb ...you can see them in the filter if there is a problem
