??????---Not sure what you are asking / saying here.-----There is no drilled hole on an 82 model like yours.---If the block was replaced it could be different.

Just saying that if i find a hole it must then be a crack!
I was surprised it was a looper being an 82 as the other 82 ive worked on was a 90hp.
It was overheating, seems due to the outlet tee for the telltale being to low in the exhaust plate, im disappointed they hadnt thought of air bubble bleeding when they designed this, it cost me a lot in replacing gasket thermostats unnecessarily

Try doing a compression test, THEN squirt some oil into the cyl, (I use gear oil).
If'n the rings are worn, the oil will "fill the gap, and compression will SHOOT up.
As long as they are equal, 95, is leaning toward the low side, (remember not only does the rings seal, but transfers heat out of the cylinder).
If you don't mind a rebuild, kinda figure the cost of the rings, gaskets into cost.
