I have a pair of 1995 200 Yamaha carbed motors.

Once the port motor warms up, it rumbles and shakes significantly on the mount and can't get going. It does this every time at 1900.

If I hold down the down port trim sensor, the issue resolves itself and I can fly. Shortly after I release the trim down button, the problem returns.

The trim sensor on this engine is malfunctioning.

What could cause this?

is the problem intermitent? Do you have Yamaha gauges? Any alarms/indicator lights going off?

It sounds like it could be your trim sensor causing the problem

On the 1990-1995 2.6L motors, the oiling function used the trim sensor in the oil transfer process. The engine oil tank is going low, the remote oil tank transfer isn't happening because the trim sensor is telling the ECU the motor is tilted up. Once the engine oil tank gets low, the engine goes into reduction mode.
