I'm replacing the '69 650 inline 4 on my boat with a '78 800 inline 4. I'd like to leave the '69 controls on the boat (came with boat and are a perfect fit). The connections for steering are the same, and the ends for trans and throttle are the same. The wiring harness is visually and mechanically compatible, but I don't know if the wiring is. Thanks.
