You can try it. SEM (higher end auto parts stores should stock it) is one brand that's been called the so called "gold standard". Its what most auto restorers use when "redyeing" vinyl seats in cars. How it will hold up in an exterior application where it's being folded/unfolded is another whole story in itself. Like Bond-o, I doubt it would stand the test of time/use.
