I need a 20" shaft motor but have a 25" shaft Evinrude that I can get for a good price. How much trouble would it be to convert if I use my fairly new foot/shaft from my 20" motor and get another mid-section?

The motor I'm looking at is a 1999 Evinrude 25hp. Where can I get the part number for the mid-section and where could I find a good used one?

Thanks!

Spend $200 and buy a manual jackplate. You will save on fuel and not touch the engine.

Nothing says you can't run a 25" shaft motor on a 20" transom if you like. Try it before you turn your wallet upside down.

What is a good source for a jackplate? Will the mounting holes line up with my existing OMC mounting holes?

Thanks!

You can buy it from bobs machine shop in ruskin florida. There are holes already in a manual jackplate. If you have to drill them it will cost you $5 for a bit and 30 minutes of your time. Good Luck
