Every time you mention "subwoofer" all the crotchety old guys pop up, thinking subwoofers exist purely to annoy others. A sub is a critical part of a quality sound system. It produces 1/3 of the audio range. And it doesn't have to "thoom-doom" your hearing aid out in order to do that.

2 things that I did that I like when I wired in my subs and amp.

1. Wired the main power wire to the back of the battery on/off switch. That way when you kill the switch the amp stops drawing power. All my amps always seem to drain the batteries when off for a few weeks.

2. Wired the remote wire to an accessory switch on the helm. That way the driver can kill the subs easily. It's really handy when docking and if you have people that don't like the bass on board, or you just want things a little more quite.

Could be, but a major annoyance on lakes is the guy with the big speakers that everyone can hear. Sounds travels a great distance on water.

Out of curiosity what ever happened with all the water you said was coming in the boat that you wanted to return. You never returned to the thread with an update.

I'm no crusty old guy but I enjoy peace and quiet as well as music. I don't understand harleys with open pipes and I don't understand boats with subs and very loud exhaust.
The thing is this.
The person making all the noise expects that everyone around him will "appreciate" the noise or just accept that this noise has to be tolerated. And that's just not fair.
I have a basement full of very large tube powered mono blocs and speakers that weight more than I do. I do not subject the world around me to the amount of noise these things can make.

from the looks of the pic, you may be able to remove the molded ice chest part, and fit a bigger box in there. Then you can maybe do a white front, and put the trim back on, and make it look facory.

or a bandpass setup where you dont see the speaker, just a port.
