Hi guys, I ran into some shallow mud bottom in the dark and struggled to get to deeper water. The motor was kicking up mud and then the highheat alarm went off. My question is how do I clear the cooling with all the slurry in there? The impeller could be shot but how about up to the engine. Nothing was coming out of the pee hole. Thank you. I have a 1995 force 120. Which ran like a top until then

Re: Cooling system

Get a hose and put it up to the pee hole. Then a piece of weedeater line in the hole.
Put in new impeller, then run it.
Maybe remove the thermostat and back flush.J

Re: Cooling system

I too hit a muddy bottom, it even bent up my prop. However since I just repaced my impeller in April, my motor was shooting out mud of the port holes. It took a while for all the muddy to come out, even at wot.

Re: Cooling system

Thank you, everyone. I did all the stuff and the engine runs fine. I plan on changing the w/ pump when I have it winterized. Thanks again.
