correct gap for points

I have a 1965 Johnson 33hp engine which, after much help for m the kind folks in this forum, now starts, but only runs on one cylinder. I took the points out, and they are burnt. What is the correct gap to set them to. I have the new points and condensers to install this weekend.

Set them to .020, after running for a few hours recheck em.

? well if someone said set them to .018 then it's a old merc motor, .022 and it will be off by a bit.
