I have a bad distributor module and need a new. I have been told by a member on this forum that a car one is not compatible with the marine system.
So my choice is Mercruiser or Sierra but the numbers on the old one do not match up with any new. Does anyone have a cross reference or can direct me to where I can find the correct piece at a good price??
The numbers on the module are 399 7L18 with a GM symbol. On the reverse is 399 6873-01 SINGAPORE.
Thanks
Todd

Re: correct module for 3.0

The in line four Cly and the v eight are one in the same ignition module.I use to own a 1994 5.7 GM truck and carried a spare module with me.I used It many times at work for a test module, But never ran a boat at W.O.T with It installed. I checked the timing on a 3.0 with It installed once and It was dead nut's on. Hope this helps.

So my choice is Mercruiser or Sierra but

Ayuh,... But,... Parts are listed for applications, by Motor Serial Numbers....
Search by using it...

The #s printed on individual parts are usually Not their Part #....

Sierra 18-5107-1 is the one. And the auto modules are computer controlled, the marine EST is stand-alone...
