The salvage companies will make a handsome profit, but someone, somewhere is picking up a big tab for the cost of all this.

insurance companies have spread the risk and thereby the cost of payout to as many people as they can. they've probably sold some via re-insurance as well. it's a very complicated industry. if they made a mistake in their modeling all they have to do is raise rates and recoup. i'm glad there's video of the salvage because we're all probably contributing to the expenses.

Discovery has a show on the CC recovery. It's on now 10-11PM. 9/20/13, it has a few repeats scheduled. Amazing!
