Re: Could they be brothers?

Can't believe some of the responses I have seen here..Making some political funnies is ok but to say one Vet is better than another because of what he did is wrong.

How many of you been under fire in a combat zone or experienced the fear of putting ones life on the line while another is trying to snuff yours out.

Both served their country with honor..Can't believe this thread has come to making fun of a vet because of his political side. Make fun of me..I served 18 months in Nam and saw more death than you can imagine..I have never voted in my life and never will..Next you will be slamming a vet because of his beliefs or what he believes in..

Keep it political but leave the Vets and what they did or not out of it..Really brave here putting the slam on any vet..Wonder how you would be under fire in a kill or be killed situation..

Muskie,

WOW. Your post made me rethink how I responded, I surely didn't mean to be insensitive. You are 100% right in being upset. No one should ever forget those of you who have sacrificed for us and most of us don't.

I can only speak for myself but I truly believe that it was not the intention of this thread to mock or belittle vets, just a stupid politician who happens to be a vet.

A heartfelt thank you for your service past and present.

Re: Could they be brothers?

gonfishn,

I was in combat in Haiti back in the '80's, and I personally survived the September 11th attack inside Tower 1 at the World Trade Center, which was also a combat zone, and I personnaly take offence to you saying that I don't have the right to say what I wish because I didn't survive a combat situation!

Thats just ludicrous!

If you wish to support a traitor and liar, then thats your right, but don't sit there and tell me whats right or wrong, for I can make that decision all by myself!

And besides, you don't even vote, which means, in my opinion, you don't have a say in our political system!

If you want a voice, then get out there and vote, whoever it is for, and then you can have a say!!

Here, in this situation, some of us found a picture thats really funny, and we were having some fun at their expense, which is our right, and if you can't see that, then your place may not be here at "DC"!

And, obviously, I survived my combat experience, and you have determined that is only requirement for bashing a canidate, then I guess I've earned that right then, didn't I!

This thread started as someone poking fun at a Presidental Canidate, and you are trying to turn it into something its not.

Besides, I was defending a Vet, Jim Nabors, from the verbal abuse that was about to arise around him, had I not filled everyone in on Nabors service!

So whats the problem?

We are here trying to have some fun, and if you can't handle that, then maybe you should go elsewhere, or keep your comments to yourself.

Sorry for sounding harsh, but I felt that your response was just as harsh.

Re: Could they be brothers?

Good for you Kenny..your right it is my right not to vote..and normally political threads I stay out of cause I have no right being there.

You were in neither mans shoe nor was I in yours. We each have our own roads to cross. I have seen many of your posts and you seem to get a kick out pursuing anothers mans weakness as you have me on the voting issue..
I have nothing to prove to you.Nor does anyone who has served his country with honor in the past.. With that said i will bow out now and go back to fishn where i belong..

Agreed gonfishn,

But I have never pursued anothers weakness.

And I feel that if someone wants to debate politics, the they must participate in the system.

Not trying ruffle your feathers or anything, I just felt that you took the thread too seriously, when it was intended to be fun.

Sorry if I offended you, that was not my intention, but your post offended me, and I was just responding to that.

Nothing personal.

Peace

Wow!!! Did this thread ever go down the tubes.
Oh well, I thought it was funny at first untill I read all the replies.

I will leave it like this, I have the highest regards for anyone that was in the service for what you have done for our country, but with that said, Kerry is a loser as a canidate.

Re: Could they be brothers?

gonfishn, sure didn't mean to offend with my comments.

I wasn't making fun of his military service anyway. I was making fun of the man. He is a joke for a candidate, and as I said before, I think he's a horses rear-end. If that offends, sorry, but thats how I feel. ........and i'm gonna say what I feel.

His military service has nothing to do with him being an idiot.

I think you took some of the comments the wrong way.

Re: Could they be brothers?

Thanks guys..I don't agree with Kerrys Stance and neither will thousands of other vets when they casts their votes. I pulled the trigger because I felt judging him as a canidate is more fair then to judge him on how many medals he brought back or where he served..

Don't judge me harshly on my voting stance..The system has not changed in fifty years just the faces..My reasons for not voting go back thirty years and I hope you respect that..

Re: Could they be brothers?

gonfishn,
I think I understand your position. I think I understand KKC's as well. My intent when I posted the picture was a little humor, of which we sadly have too little. I give Kerry the benefit of any doubt as to whether he earned his medals. He is a fellow vetran and deserves no less.

That said, he is in the public eye and has opened himself up to public scrutiny. I don't appreciate what he did with his awards when he got out of the Navy. In my view, for him to throw his medals in the dirt disrespects every other vet who also earned that award.

Now that it serves his purpose, Kerry has chosen to wear his military service like a badge. This is very uncharachteristic of most vets that I know, and a blatant demonstration of his endless waffling on issues, but it's still within his right. It is his current use of his military record that I choose to criticise, not the record itself.

-Joe

OK,

Now, with that all settled, who here still thinks that John Kerry still looks "like" Gomer Pyle?
