Re: could this issue be the fuel pump

Update. After checking most of the possibles this is whats up. It is an overheat problem. There is a split in the copper tube about 4 inches above the water pump. I am getting no water or at least very little. I hooked a hose to the pipe and 90% came out the split. Now i have another question for the guys. I removed the motor mount bolts but the powerhead wont budge at all. How the ??? Does this come off so i can pull the water tube out.

I assume that you have the lower unit off and the driveshaft out of the powerhead. Off the top of my head I can't remember what all else comes off. I replaced an exhaust gasket on one of these once and there were some hidden bolts that I had to remove the midsection to get to. It would pay for you to get an OEM manual for major repairs like this. They have tips and shortcuts in them that the Seloc and cheaper manuals don't have. They are available at kencook dot com .

Yes i have the lower off and the four motor mount bolts along with a nut that was hidden under the shroud. There are a few bolts that are in the exhaust housing but it looks like if i was to remove them the whole motor aand mid section would come loose from the transom mount. Just a thought has anyone tried to repair a crack in the water pipe with jb weld without removing the powerhead. I can just barly see the leak and might be able to reach it. Just a thought

If you drop the misection I think that you might be able to replace the tube, I don't know. You might even try the rigth diameter heater hose to slide over it and clamp it. Make sure the clamps are on the opposite side of your shift rod. Not recommending you do this but just an idea. You might find someone who can braize it with a torch and "weld" it that way too.

Welding in place is not an option and ahose i would never be able to get to the top clamp. I would like to do it the right way but i cant break the powerhead loose. I am afraid that if i take the bolts out of the wxhaust housing everything will fall apart. I justwant the motor off. Unless i cant do it while it attached to the boat

I still think you have to drop the midsection. I seriously would buy an OEM manual specific to your engine.

Picks will help us to determine what's up with tube. Try to use quick steel putty, my Honda Accord motor head was fixed 10 years ago, still running.
