Couple of questions...

I have a new 2010 Bayliner 185 BR. I have seen a couple post about Smart Tabs on the stern of the boat. What do they do in general? From what I can gather it seems like they keep the boat leveled when accelerating and going fast?

Also, what is the best way to clean hull once you take it out of the water? I know you should rinse, but is there a good way to wipe down the hull? With what?

Also, I got Muffs for my Merc 3.0 engine to flush. Anybody have any actual pictures of them on? Just want to make sure I put them on right.

Thank you for all your help.

i'm sure someone else will have a better statement on this. but they lift the stern of the boat. allowing faster plane times, less bow rise. maybe slightly faster speeds. better handling in rough water due to the bow being down. thay auto retract to flat when at speed. no helm adj.

it's a debateable subject. myself. i wash with boat soap and water, shammy w/ducky brand water spot remover after ea. run. i usually do this at home a day or so later. some folks just wipe them off at the ramp.

note on that pic. the cups on the flusher are horizontal. i've now decided that it might be better to have them vertical. either or has sufficed though. other than that...

Re: Couple of questions...

Ziggy, thanks for taking the time to reply. That helps alot. As far as wiping down the hull and cleaning do you use just a regular towel to wipe the hull or should I go get a boat/marine grade shammy/towel?

Thanks for the pic of the muffs. That makes it much clearer. :)

Sorry for the newbie questions but I am a newbie at this and just want to make sure I treat my boat the correct way.
