Hi
I have a 9.9,4 stroke high thrust engine. It is a 1999 and there is a crack that starts just below the engine cowling and goes to about 4 inches above where you would unscrew the bolt to change the oil. There doesn't seem to be anything leaking out of it. What causes this type of a crack? What types of problems will this crack cause? Will it leak saltwater into the lower unit? Can hi clean it up and patch it with Marine tex. Thanks for the help
