With the truck engine, you'll even be OK with the cam. No need to swap the cam or lifters.

Swap over your intake manifold, distributor, starter, alternator, etc.

Buy new exhaust manifolds, and be done.

Me personally, I pulled the heads and had them resurfaced and valve job done. I'm also replacing all gaskets, seals, etc.

Oh, couple more things -

Core plugs. You'll need to replace them with brass. The factory ones will be steel, and will not stand up to plain water.

Truck engine won't have a provision for a mechanical fuel pump. You'll need to convert to a electric pump.
