I fired up the boat last night to warm for oil change and realized raw water pump was weeping. (1999 Volvo Penta 5.0GL) No boating today but I have a second used pump I bought on eBay as spare so going to use it (need get new anti rotation bumper first)

Out of boredom I messed with old pump and I removed leaking seal but bearings got salt water washed and are rough. (no shocker). The wear surfaces look good so I assume the bearings failed first. I know the pump is "non serviceable" but so are the trim cylinders and i have made tools to disassemble those and successfully rebuilt them..............
Anyone ever try to get one apart? Looks like the aluminum pulley is press fit into pump shaft?

Never have tried, but since it was assembled, dont see why it can't be disassembled...

I'm interested in this as well. My 07 3.0 is already leaking between the pump and the pulley. Seems a little premature for a $380 pump to be fully replaced... 3 seasons??
