1985 evinrude 50hp o/b
after cleaning and rebuilding both carbs i still have the crank no start.
engine does start fine with a spray of FUEL mixture (as advised) in one carb.
today i noticed something while turning the ign key i must have pressed it inward and heard a click....im a noob at outboards this is my first, not new to boats but always had large boats with automotive engines. anyway is the click i hear somekinda of a primer? maybe low fuel pressure? the boat is useable as is unless i dont start the engine till the next day i wont have a problem unless it gets worse.

Re: crank no start

The click you heard was the fuel enricher. It acts like a choke. Try starting without pushing that in. Give the pump a few primes and then just turn the key.
