I am cleaning the flame arrestors on my 4.3 L MPI MerCruisers. The boat is a 2004. The Mercruiser manual that came with the boat indicated that the crankase ventilation hose shoud be removed from the flame arrestors when taking them off. There were no fittings on my flame arrestors to attach this hose and the small 1/2 inch corrugated hose (I assume this is the ventilation hose) was just laying free under the flame arrestor. Is the normal situation for these engines?
