Do Credit reports show existing Bank Accounts (checking and/or savings)?

I've never had occasion to request one and I really don't need to do so for this general question.

All that I have seen only report credit relationships.

Ditto what Jb said. I don't recall seeing bank accounts, just credit accounts. A checking account may appear on there if you have overdraft, though, since overdraft is just pre-qualified credit.

They do usually show bank accounts. Kate's a banker. She had said to me that if you wanted to open any kind of account with bank of america (BOA). BOA will run your credit report to see if you owe money/ or in default with any other banks. For example, if you are in default at say, Citizens Bank, BOA will not let you open any kind of account with them. She also says most banks are recriprocal that way.

I have to agree with all posted. Although a consumer pulled credit report won't show checking or saving account balances, a bank pulled report has a little more detail including if you owe another bank money when trying open an account. A friend wanted to open a separate account from the soon to be ex hubby and was refused because they owed overdraft fees to their joint bank account

You can get a credit report for free from each of the three reporting companies. Spread it out and that's a report every four months.

We cancelled our subscription to Free Credit Report because we are able to get it for free and we didn't need it monthly.

Freecreditreport dot com is a scam. You have to enroll in Triple Advantage, which costs money.

A truly free credit report yearly from each of the 3 agencies is available at www.annualcreditreport.com. You can get it emailed to you or mailed by snail mail. If you get one every 4 months you will never be more than 120 days without seeing anything weird popping up on your credit report.

I did it and it works great! It can be done by phone!

I review an average of one credit report every few days. I've never seen checking/saving bank account information on a credit report.

Yep. That's what I was saying and the reason we stopped paying
Free Credit Report for something we could get for free.
Dave Ramsey gives some pretty good advise.:D

To add in response to the OP...
A credit report doesn't report what is in your bank account.
It reports that you borrow often and payback on time.
Dave Ramsey calls it an "I Love Debt Score".
You could have a million dollars in the bank and have a
credit score of zero because you don't borrow money.

Re: Credit report question!

Keep in mind, credit reports are not all credit cards and debt. Utilities are also considered credit, since you (normally) don't prepay, so they also appear on there. Your cell phone, land line, electric, etc. Your cable you prepay for, so that should not appear.

I used to listen to Dave Ramsey many years ago and loved the sound advise as well as the retards who called in. After a while it begins to get repetitive, but that just means you have absorbed all of the good advice he has to give. Anyone who has never listened to him, do yourself a favor and try him out.

Re: Credit report question!

This is what I do for a living. No checking or savings account info is on any credit report. Now if you go for a mortgage the bank might have you sign a paper to verify you have what you say you have, but it is not on a credit report. On a side note, and not to hijack the thread... BEWARE of any credit repair firms, they are all ripoffs. The info on your credit report stays there for 7 to 10 years unless found to be inaccurate. Now the easy way to get anything off is simply to dispute it. Go online to transunion, trw, ect and request a dispute. The reporter now has 30 days to prove it is your bill or it will be removed. Most companies when notified, file these requests in file 13. They do not want to spend the energy or money to do research on what they already consider a bad debt. Then the derog info comes off. Just a tip. Sorry for the hijack, bob
