Have any of you guys heard of a material called Thermite? It's used to in-situ welding of train tracks, I wonder what a little pinch of that would do inside a marette........

I say crimp it, cut it, then solder it. And don't forget to use a little duct tape on it after. Or is that a lot of duct tape? Thinking maybe I got that backwards.....so in order to follow the rules, make that solder it, cut it, then crimp it. :)

hmm, crimp it a little loose so you can re-use the crimp, I wonder if that works with solder?
If I don't heat it up too much.....

you know paul, I am finding it hard to work out what is for real now and what's not.... Think I'll go with crab bait on this one.. UGH! Me smash crimp good!

Pauls idea, not mine, but I like it!
Hell, those crimps cost like $2.00 a pack,
no way I'm buying them again for the next boat.....

I might try and keep the paint too, and the epoxy, and the floor, and the transom......Why buy it all a second time?

Don't forget you can use a wire stretcher for when you cut the wires too short. I must not be a newbie anymore, caught the original " crimp" post. Like this one better :D

You guys are terrible. ROTFLMAO. Glad to see a light-hearted take on this whole debate thing.

But WOW the creativity in your methods. I am truly amazed.

But I am still waiting for a link to an "Official" document stating that crimping is required.
