Can anyone reccomend a brand and model for a good insulated connector crimping tool for wire connections. I can only find the cheap 4 in 1 stripper/crimpers and I don't seem to have good luck getting a good solid bite. Someone said a ratcheting type? Any suggestions or what and where to purchase ?

Re: Crimping Tool

Tommays and Rodbolt both have good suggestions. Ancor’s crimper is popular for boat work but costs close to $80. The same crimper is available from Ancor’s sister company, Del City Wire, for less than $25. See the crimpers at Del City dot net.

Edit: it’s $27.97 at Del Cirt dot net, under tools / ratchet crimpers / versatile 22-10 ga ratchet crimper.

18R where were you when I needed that crimper? I paid 30 but it was on ebay and has other dies included. Looks and acts EXACTLY like the Ancor model too.
