The truth of the matter is:<br /><br />The larger venturi will increase low end/midrange power. This will take a fair amount of tuning.(jet work)but it is possible. The older "OPC" racers have been doing this for years. It typically doesn't help much at WOT due to porting issues. ( I have personnaly run the old 1" venturi V-4 carbs on a 50hp. It was alot of work, but we have several national championships )<br /><br />If your carb is truly worn out, replace it with the proper carb, jetted properly. There is no amount of performance gain, that is worth the hassle of a poor running engine. Especially while fishing!
