Recently finished a pontoon rebuild. and now need to restripe it, and would also like to add a little logo to each side. does anybody know where to have a custom decal made? and is it real expensive. would i be better off hiring a local high school artist to paint it on for me? its not a real complex design, but there is know way i am gonna be able to draw and paint it on.

the only change i want to make is have the Happy arching up and the ours arching down so the whole logo forms a circle. thanks for any ideas!

Re: custom decals

FSHKPR,

Go to ebay and use the search word "decal". Many of the outfits selling there will do custom work, very reasonably.

I like the name and design. However, I think I would lose the martini glasses. You're inviting a "visit" from the water law.

Re: custom decals

thanks for the responses. what does everyone think about the martini glasses? i kinda thought it made the logo but if i am inviting trouble, probably best if i left them off.

Re: custom decals

FSHKPR, IMHO you're inviting trouble. If you saw somebody with M galsses as part of their logo what would you think? Now what if you were the local cops or Coast Guard? See what I mean? Who needs the added scrutiny?

I have a Formula with Twin 350s and thru-hull exhaust. You can hear it for miles and the boat is bright yellow. I attract a lot of attention. The CG has never boarded me despite always heading for me. Know why? Because when the spy me with the Bincs they don't see any alcohol.

Again, just my opinion.

Re: custom decals

I make custom decals for older merc motors, and what I do is create them very precisely in adobe workshop, then I save it to a disk, and take it down to the nearest sign shop and have them print them for me on their photo printer on marine grade vinyl. It costs me 25bux to have a set made for and Inline 6 Merc.

JohnDoe:

To post an image you need to have the image sitting somewhere on the Internet, then click on the "IMAGE" button in the INstant UBB Code section (underneath where you are typing your reply/post) and it will prompt you to put in the Internet address of where the pic is.
