The Toronto Boat Show is coming up and I want to replace my 15' 72 Surfmaster with a new boat. This boat has a 50 hp and it will barely bring up a skier.

I'm looking at the Cutter XLE 169 Weighs 900 lbs. or the Nordic 1610 Weigh 810 lbs. Both boats are priced the same and come with a Mercury 60 hp 2 stroke.

Will I have satisfactory performance? The Nordic 1610 claims 40 MPH with 2 people onboard. Will an adult be able to ski behind either boat? Can I pull a tube?

I'm leaning towards the Cutter as it appears to have a better waranty.

Tx.

Joe

I like the Cutters but every write-up I've read on Nordic boats says they're fantastic and under-rated. You may have to get a lesser pitch prop for skiing but that's easy. One vote for Nordic.

Don't know about this one son...I have a Roughneck 1752 with a 60 hp. Mariner...probably lighter than either of the boats you mention. No speedo but I feel sure that mid thirties is about all she'll do. I've skied since I was 12 and feel sure that your setup would jerk a kid right out of the water...but might struggle with a 150 lb.+ adult...especially with a couple of friends in the boat.
